Cyber Bullying

1st Ranger Battalion, Arma 3 Realism is committed to maintaining a safe and respectful environment for all users of our servers and services located in databases in Nova Scotia and Quebec. This Cyber Bullying and Harassment Policy outlines our stance on cyber bullying and harassment, the actions we take to prevent such behavior, and the consequences for violating this policy. 


All active members of 1st Ranger Battalion, Arma 3 Realism are bound by this policy and will be held accountable to it.

Definition


Cyber bullying and harassment include, but are not limited to:


  • Posting or sharing derogatory, offensive, or harmful content about an individual or group.
  • Sending threatening, abusive, or intimidating messages electronically (via chat, email, voice communication, etc.).
  • Spreading rumors, gossip, or falsehoods about an individual with the intent to harm their reputation.
  • Impersonating someone else online in order to deceive or harm others.
  • Engaging in any other form of online behavior intended to harass, intimidate, or cause distress to another person.

Legal Framework


Cyber bullying and harassment are addressed under various federal and provincial laws, including:


  • Criminal Code of Canada: Sections 264 and 372. Laws under the Criminal Code address harassment and telecommunications offenses related to cyber bullying.
  • Nova Scotia Human Rights Act: Prohibits discrimination, including harassment, on grounds such as race, color, religion, gender identity, and sexual orientation.
  • Quebec Charter of Human Rights and Freedoms: Protects individuals from discrimination and harassment.

Prohibited Conduct


The following conduct is strictly prohibited on our servers and services:


  • Sending or posting threatening, abusive, or harassing messages.
  • Sharing or posting offensive or discriminatory content based on race, gender, religion, sexual orientation, or any other protected characteristic.
  • Engaging in behavior that creates a hostile environment or causes emotional distress to others.
  • Impersonating another individual or using their personal information without consent.

Reporting Procedure


If you believe you are being cyber bullied or harassed, or if you witness such behavior, please report it to 1st Ranger Battalion, Arma 3 Realism's moderators or administrators immediately. You can report incidents through our official channels (e.g., website contact form, Discord server moderation channels).

Investigation and Response


Upon receiving a report of cyber bullying or harassment, we will conduct a prompt and thorough investigation. This may include gathering evidence, interviewing witnesses, and assessing the situation.


If it is determined that a violation of this policy has occurred, we will take appropriate action, which may include:


  • Issuing warnings to the offending party.
  • Temporary or permanent suspension of access to our servers and services.
  • Reporting the incident to relevant authorities or law enforcement agencies if the behavior violates criminal laws.

Confidentiality


We respect the privacy of all individuals involved in reports of cyber bullying and harassment. Information will only be shared with those who have a legitimate need to know for the purpose of investigating and resolving the incident.

Education and Prevention


We are committed to educating our community members about cyber bullying and harassment prevention. We will provide resources, training, and guidelines to promote respectful behavior and discourage bullying and harassment.

Compliance with Law


Our cyber bullying and harassment policy complies with all applicable federal and provincial laws in Nova Scotia and Quebec, including those mentioned above. We are committed to upholding these legal standards to protect the safety and well-being of our community members.
