Promotion Requirements

During your time in the 1st Ranger Battalion, Alpha Company, you will be assigned ranks based on time in grade, promotion points, and responsibilities aligned with your assigned billet. After being promoted to Private First Class, you will have the option to pursue either the non-commissioned officer route or a specialized route, depending on your interest in a leadership position. The ranks of Private, Private Second Class, and Private First Class are entry-level positions used for schooling and familiarization within the unit before the career split. With the exception of officers, all individuals who wish to change career paths will be reset to 60 promotion points to ensure fairness to all individuals who have invested time and effort into their current path.
